Dots & Stripes

Another enjoy-my-youth thing! Haha. As you may have noticed, I already did 3 different nail arts in the past 7 days. Well, besides that I’m still on bum mode, I just wanted to enjoy these while I still can. Like what I have said in my previous nail art post, I won’t have the luxury of time anymore when I start working (and nail art is not allowed too).

I got my nail art in this website! I just used blue and purple nail polishes, and I made different styles of dots & stripes using the dotting pen which I bought from the mall + 3M’s Invisible Scotch tape (although I copied the exact same design there on my pinky finger, hihi). This actually has a lot of tutorials/tips on anything— from nail art to hairstyles to make-up; a really helpful website for DIYs! ;)

Say hello to my enjoying-my-youth full bangs! Haha. My cousin cut it yesterday, just because we were talking about hairstyles and she told me that I should try everything while I’m still young.
My sister said I look like (the shorter and wavy hair version) of Zooey Deschanel (a.k.a. Jess) in New Girl.
Yay or nay?

Reality bites

I was in National Bookstore to kill time while waiting for my mom to come back. I was browsing random bookshelves, hoping to find something interesting to read. Suddenly, I realized how hot it was inside the store. Then I noticed that there were really looooooong lines in all the cashier booths. The ones in line were kids and teenagers with their parents, carrying their school supplies. From that moment, I realized that I’m not one of them anymore. There will be no more yellow pad + notebook fillers + pens + highlighters for me.

Oh well.

audio

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

Pakapalan na ng mukha ‘to. Hahaha.

I feel so inspired tonight, so I recorded my own version of How Deep Is Your Love (an original song by Bee Gees). The accompaniment is not mine, though. I just searched a random acoustic instrumental version on YouTube. So whoever made this, you are great! I wanna learn this on guitar, too. But you know, even after 7 years of playing, my plucking skills are still not that good. :|

So, why this song? Well, just because Lea Michele (a.k.a. Rachel Berry) sang this on Glee. Haha! ;)

(Please forgive my voice, I’m not used to singing this kind of music. You know I’m more inclined to choral music. Mehehe good night!)

Look what came in to our mailbox todayyyyyy!
I feel so proud of myself when I saw this. It’s like I’ve won a gold medal in a competition or something. Sorry, still can’t get over the fact that I’ve graduated from college already. Hahaha
This resembles 4 years of joy, tears, laziness, and sacrifice. Every effort was worth it!
(LOL there are a few minor errors on this diploma, though.
My date of graduation was March 30th, not 26th. I guess they had it standardized for all diplomas. :|
On the upper left corner, it says “Quadricentennial graduate” around the UST logo. Well, we’re Neo-centennial graduates. Nyaha.)

Appreciating the Arts (Part 1):

My college friends and I went to Vargas Museum in UP Diliman yesterday. Ryxis wanted to show me and Francine the artwork of Jose Legaspi, who happens to be a Thomasian graduate like us. Well, here it is!

They were all drawn with charcoal, except for his self-portraits, which were drawn with pastel (if I remember it correctly).

I love his self-portraits. I was just staring at it for like 5 minutes, and they are really beautiful. At first glance, his works are actually creepy, but I know each has a deeper meaning.

He’s one great Filipino artist whom we should be proud of.

The Real Supergirl

…is my mom. Raising three lovely daughters all by herself wasn’t an easy task. Sacrifices were made, and she had to go through a whole lot of drama. Believe me. Pang-teleserye ang peg ni Mama noon. That’s why she considers us as her treasures. I remember she said this to us some years ago: “Mawala na ang lahat ng lalaki sa mundo, wag lang ang mga anak ko.”

In return for all her efforts, we always make it to a point that we make her feel extra special as much as we can; may it be in our own little ways, or through a group effort.

For Mother’s Day this year, here’s what we did:

Surprise #1: Flower pastillas

I left this on our dining table for her to see first thing in the morning. Hmm, I wonder how these taste like? I’ll get one rose from mom, hahaha!

Surprise #2: IMAX tickets for Dark Shadows

It was my personal gift to her, and it’s also the first time that we watched a movie which I paid for using my own money! Hihi. More of these to come when I get employed (soon). :)

Surprise #3: Lunch

Since my eldest sister and her family is currently in Europe for a vacation, it’s just me and mom for lunch.

My doodle! Haha. By now, I’m sure you know where we had our lunch. ;)

But then, my other sister (next to the eldest) and brother-in-law decided to surprise mom for lunch. I was their accomplice for this plan, and I had to distract mom for 30-45 minutes before we go to the restaurant because they arrived a bit late. Haha. All the while, mom thought that they were in Parañaque with my sister’s in-laws. Well, of course they wouldn’t miss our Mother’s Day celebration! Mom was really happy (and surprised, indeed). :D

It really feels good to surprise our parents on their special day. Agree? :)

Yesterday, I drove along the NLEX for the first time. It was a really cool experience to drive at 80 km/hr. Hahaha! I feel like a grown up now. :D
(I don’t use my phone while driving, okay. I took this picture while the red light’s on. Haha.)
