SUPERGIRLTOTHERESCUE ♥
I just had to blog this. :(

Remember my post about Sir Eros Atalia? Well, I’m currently reading his latest novel, Wag Lang Di Makaraos; and I’m gonna share one of the stories in the book. It’s so heartbreaking.

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

“Happy 50th Anniversary, Mahal.”

Ligo na Ü, Lapit na Me (which was one of the entries in Cinemalaya 2011) and Wag Lang Di Makaraos were written by Sir Eros S. Atalia, a known Filipino author who happens to be one of the professors in our own faculty (UST Faculty of Arts and Letters). He’s a really good writer, how I wish he became one of my Literature professors during my younger years in college. On my final exam week, I went to one of his classes and asked him to sign my copies. Well, this was actually one of my goals before graduation. ;) You see, it’s not everyday you get a chance to have your books signed by the author. I mean, with Nicholas Sparks, I had to go through a long process just to get my books signed.

If you like reading books by Bob Ong or Ricky Lee, I suggest you also read Sir Eros’ novels, you’ll learn a lot of life lessons here. ;)

Dreams do come true ;)

Yesterday was one of the best days of my twenty years of existence.

October 28, 2011: Nicholas Sparks Live in Manila

I went there with my grade school best friend, Winona. We waited outside The Podium since 8:30 am in the morning (we could have arrived earlier if the MRT train ahead of us wasn’t defective :|). We thought we would make it in the list of 50 early birds who would automatically get signing passes for Nicholas Sparks’ book signing event. Well, obviously, we didn’t; so we were really praying hard that we would get lucky in the “lucky pass draw” thing.

Although, we were next in line to the 50 early birds; therefore, we were one of the first ones to get the chance to have the “lucky draw” for the signing pass.

WELL, WE DID GET LUCKY. :”>

Out of 1000+ passes, we were part of the first 100. Even luckier! :)

Since the event would start at 5 pm, we practically had the whole day to roam around. So, we walked to SM Megamall to kill time.

We had Bon Chon for lunch,

and White Hat for dessert! :)

Winona’s college friend, Jaja, came along with us. :)

Obviously, I was way too excited. :)) Who wasn’t, anyway? :)

HELLO, NICHOLAS SPARKS! :”>

During this moment, everyone was screaming and all that. I was too busy listening to what he had to say and taking pictures and videos of him too. :)

To be honest, from the way he looks to the way he speaks, he’s like the perfect guy. :”> HAHA. And he doesn’t look 45, you know! :P #crush

When I met him on stage, he said, “Hello, sweetie!”

Imagine the look on my face after he said that. :”>

Besides his latest novel, The Best of Me, I also had his other novel (and his only non-fiction novel), Three Weeks with My Brother, signed. I can really say that I have read ALL of his novels because of this book. It’s not sold in the Philippines anymore, and I only got it in a random book sale in TriNoma about 2 years ago. I feel really blessed! :) Oh, and when you read this book, you’ll understand why he writes these kinds of novels. ;)

Every autographed book comes with a free Sharpie permanent marker. It’s no ordinary marker! :P

I’m one proud and happy girl! :) This is indeed the best (and last) semestral break ever! ♥
