She wanted the chapel-comfort of dim
Lights, the hide-and-seek solace of blind
Windows, the beauty pageant experience
Of a sound-proof booth.

            He wanted to smoke in the air-conditioned room.

She wanted to see her shy reflection
On the mirror ceiling as if it were her astral
Body hovering free from entanglements of clothing
And gravity.

            He wanted to lie naked on a circular bed.

She wanted a warm bath, an unhurried dip
In a bubbly pool of disappointments rising warm
Into a whirl, surfacing as a sea of candle lanterns
Afloat on a dreamy lake.

            He wanted to get her wet and wild.

She wanted to reveal herself like Maria Makiling
Finally descending from her mountain of cloud, bearing
Fragrant gifts of ripe mangoes and lemon grass for
A long-lost lover.

            He wanted to fuck.

I was cleaning my hard drive then I saw this poem in one of my folders. I remember 5 years ago, our high school English teacher discussed this with us. Can you imagine a bunch of high school girls reading this kind poem? Haha. Nevertheless, it’s very well written and it’s actually one of my favorite poems.

Speaking of poems, I used to write these when I was in high school. I’m not much of a good writer, but I have written a few (decent ones). I don’t know, probably I lost the time and interest to write poems when I entered college. Oh well, hopefully I could write again one day. :)

I had the chance to bond with two of my closest high school friends, Caiel and Mhelai, the whole day today; and we did a lot of stuff! :)

First, we went shopping in thrift stores in Anonas. Here are the tops that I bought. I’m planning to deconstruct the gray top (left) to make it more “me” :)

Actually, there are a lot of nice stuff there (and a lot of stores, too!). But then, I’m trying to divert my style into something different that’s why I only bought a few. Probably when we come back next time, they would have the style that I’m aiming for. ;)

We had lunch at Delish, which is along Maginhawa Street.

MM (right) joined us for lunch! :) Unfortunately she had an on-call shooting for her documentary show in TV5 so she went ahead right after lunch. You already, MM! :)) Missed you girl! >:D<

After lunch, we headed to our usual place with the usual orders. :)) Btw Moonleaf is just beside Delish, haha!

Ooh we’re growing older up, indeed!

It’s been 6 years since I last saw this high school friend of mine. We call her Agba (just because her last name is Agbayani. But her first name is Joanna. Haha.), and she’s about 3 years older than me. Of course, she graduated ahead of me (2 batches ahead, to be exact). Unfortunately after her high school graduation in 2006, we had a difficult time arranging a get together. It even became more difficult when I graduated from high school in 2008.

But after 6 long years, we finally got the chance to see each other! But then… It’s sort of a sad reunion, ‘cause the reason for this was to pay our respects to our high school teacher who just passed away last weekend. :( I recently posted a tribute for him here on Tumblr, actually.

So there, we ate at a Korean restaurant (I forgot the name :s) located at St. Thomas Square, which is just near UST. Her NCLEX review center is in that building, that’s why we met there. Then we went straight to the wake after lunch.
